The rats are scurrying. The ACORN Occupy Wall Street train rolls on. And I bet this bunch gets federal funds.....
Just kidding.
The United States is venturing into one of Africa's bloodiest conflicts, sending about 100 U.S. troops to central Africa to support a years-long fight against a guerrilla group accused of horrific atrocities.

I thank you for your input on the discussion I have been involved in with raykaye on the subject of marriage. I was beginning to think I was the only one on the page. Even though you limited yourself (wisely) to a few words I did gain some encouragement from your commentary. I believe that I have just about beaten that horse to death, and yet am drawn to continue the diologue in the hope that some other reasonable person will eventually see my posts and understand the logic of my argument.Even if they never comment on any of it. As inarticulate as it may be, I believe that my every point is valid.
Once again thanks for the moral support and the interjection of your voice. Which is in itself an encouragement.insect.
Hello Colonel
I can see from the posts you have published here that you are a reasonable person who believes the things that he says , and says what he believes. With conviction. It is unusual to have find an honest poster on this news vine. I have been posting here on an off for the last few years and have not found many people who honestly believe the things they post or even know why they say them. Most posters here just type first and think late it seems.
We probably do not have a whole lot of things in common I'm a civilian plumber/fitter self-employed tax payer with a couple of kids in college. I've never been in the military ,because I just spent my younger years raising kids an working to support them. I can and do appreciate the value of service as I have many cousins uncles nieces nephews and family members currently in service in Afghanistan and elsewhere. God bless them and anyone else that would take on that kind of job.
I just wanted to comment that people like yourself are unusual to find on this site , being that you are both reasonable and actually have something to say. Unlike most of the rest of the posters on this vine.Wishing you well

Sir,
I caught your comments on the Obama trip. If anyone gets in the way of mission success, I would not want to be them. Wish I could've served with you.

Sir,
This sign hangs above my desk. It's there because I believe it explains good soldiers.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty and well preserved body. But, rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, and loudly proclaiming WOW! what a ride!
Thought you might like that. :)

Thank you, sir.
I was right on target about you. I was injured in theatre and they forced me medically while trying to deploy again. Now I just support and make educated suggestions where I can. After reading your posts, if I am incorrect about something, I'm sure you will set me straight.
Again, thank you and may God watch over you as you watch over yours.

Sir, It sounds as if you are or were a decent, if not good officer. As an NCO on the ground in Baghdad, I have to say that communication between officers and enlisted has become hard to imagine. I realize that there are good and bad officers as well as enlisted, but personally,( alot of the enlisted in that AO felt this way) we were safer carreer wise outside the wire. It got to the point that we would rather not have reported what we thought was the right thing to do for fear of persecution by our own. ex. An IA ASV T boned the humv that our DBC happened to be in. They called it lack of experience on the IA driver's part. The following week, 2 IA ASV's jumped in front of me at the head of my squad and played chicken at 40 meters. Warning shot put them back on the shoulder. When we reported it so that others would be aware, we spent the next 4 formations in the front leaning. They almost called it blue on green.
My point is that all information nessasary for good intel may not always be shared. It's sad to think that the greatest armed force in the world is acting like the elected officials today instead of the no B.S., kickass military it should be. Pettyness seems to more contagious than the flu.
Anyway, thought you should know. Training goes up as well as down. Hu ahh.— sgtriden
